What to Expect When You Visit the Ward Street Church of Christ

It is our aim, as the Lord's church, to practice all things according to the accepted pattern found in the New Testament. We call Bible things by Bible names, and practice Bible things in Bible ways. We believe that in all matters of faith, we must have unity. We believe in matters of opinion, we must have liberty. And, in all things love.

While worshipping with us you will feel welcomed. You will feel like you are among warm and loving people who love God and His church. We are always anxious to hear from you. You may have questions about what we do and the way we do them. Please, feel free to ask, you will not offend.

While visiting the Ward Street Church of Christ you will be among people who believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God. The Bible is the only source of authority for what we do and teach concerning Christianity. We have no creed but the Bible. The creeds of men are divisive and have no authority from God. Only the Bible will teach us what to do to be saved and how to live so as to get to Heaven.

While visiting the Ward Street Church of Christ you will be among people who worship according to the New Testament Pattern. The New Testament is our pattern for all we do in life and in worship to God (Hebrews 8:5). It is our sole source for what is pleasing to God in worship. You will notice that we do not use mechanical instruments of music in our worship, for the Bible does not authorize them (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16). You will observe that we do partake of the Lord's Supper every Sunday, for the first century church did (Acts 20:7). You will notice also that we give of our means on every first day of the week, for the Bible teaches that we do so (1 Corinthians 16:1,2).

Our invitation is extended to you to come and worship with us. If you are searching for a place where the Bible is taught and where the members are warm and receptive, then you should visit us at the Ward Street Church of Christ.
